How to Use the Gerrit MCP in Windsurf
Let Windsurf's Cascade agent handle your code reviews. Query changes, check patch sets, and audit branches without leaving your IDE.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Gerrit MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Gerrit to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Autonomous review tracking
This toolset lets Cascade read your Gerrit instance directly. You ask it to find open PRs you need to look at, and it chains `query_changes` with `get_change` to grab the exact context. It reads the project state, fetches the patch sets, and maps out what changed. You skip the web UI completely. The agent sees a broken build, runs `list_reviewers` to see who approved it, and pulls the relevant `list_patchsets` data right into your editor.
Windsurf MCP Server for project audits
Managing hundreds of repositories gets messy fast. Hook up this MCP Server and tell your agent to map out the current structure. It uses `list_projects` to find the repos and `list_branches` to verify where code is actually landing. Speed is the whole point here. Instead of clicking through ten different Gerrit menus, Cascade pulls the raw group data via `list_groups` and cross-references it with `get_project` in seconds.
Account and access mapping
Figuring out who owns what patch is usually a headache. Your agent fires `get_account` to verify your current context, then runs `list_emails` to check associated addresses. That data feeds directly into how Cascade interprets code ownership. It knows exactly who to ping for a review because it pulled the live roster straight from the source.
