Cline automates Gitea repository tasks

Cline uses `list_repos` to inventory your projects and their current status. It grabs clone URLs and branch info so it can start working on a task immediately. Instead of you searching through your dashboard, the agent fetches the necessary repository details itself. It keeps your workspace synced with your live Gitea instance.

Deep dive into Gitea issues

Use `list_issues` to let Cline audit your open work items and pull requests. It can scan for specific bug reports or feature requests to build a plan for your next commit. When you need to know exactly what is happening in a ticket, `get_issue` provides the full context. Cline then uses that info to write code or update your documentation.

Sync Gitea branches with Cline

The `list_branches` tool gives Cline a clear view of your development history. It can verify current branch names and switch contexts without you needing to run terminal commands. This makes it easy to maintain multiple features in parallel. You ask the agent to handle a new task, and it ensures it is working on the correct branch.

Common questions about Gitea MCP in Cline

Navigate to the MCP Servers tab in the Cline sidebar. You can add the server by URL or edit your configuration file to include the endpoint details.
You need to provide an access token with the correct scopes for the repositories you want to manage. Cline uses this to authenticate every request made to the server.
As long as your token has read access to those repositories, Cline can pull data using the MCP Server tools. It treats your private code with the same security as any other file.
The MCP Server will return an error, and Cline will let you know it cannot reach the host. You can then retry the task once your server connection is restored.
Your tokens are managed locally in your configuration. The server acts as a pass-through for authorized requests, ensuring that your sensitive authentication data is never logged.
