How to Use the Gitea MCP in Cline
Cline manages your Gitea repositories directly through this MCP Server.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Gitea MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Gitea to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Cline automates Gitea repository tasks
Cline uses `list_repos` to inventory your projects and their current status. It grabs clone URLs and branch info so it can start working on a task immediately. Instead of you searching through your dashboard, the agent fetches the necessary repository details itself. It keeps your workspace synced with your live Gitea instance.
Deep dive into Gitea issues
Use `list_issues` to let Cline audit your open work items and pull requests. It can scan for specific bug reports or feature requests to build a plan for your next commit. When you need to know exactly what is happening in a ticket, `get_issue` provides the full context. Cline then uses that info to write code or update your documentation.
Sync Gitea branches with Cline
The `list_branches` tool gives Cline a clear view of your development history. It can verify current branch names and switch contexts without you needing to run terminal commands. This makes it easy to maintain multiple features in parallel. You ask the agent to handle a new task, and it ensures it is working on the correct branch.
