How to Use the Grafana MCP in Cline
Cline controls your Grafana observability stack, allowing your agent to inspect dashboards and mitigate alerts directly.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Grafana MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Grafana to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Automate Grafana triage with Cline
Cline executes incident response by querying `firing_alerts` to identify failing services. It maps the labels to your codebase to pinpoint the root cause. Don't manually check status pages. The agent retrieves the data and builds a mitigation plan based on the live alert state.
Inspect dashboard queries inside Cline
Use `search_dashboards` to find the right view for your investigation. Cline then calls `get_dashboard` to read the underlying PromQL or SQL queries. This gives the agent the context it needs to write better code. It sees how your infrastructure reports health, not just the visual output.
Query Grafana datasources with Cline
The `list_datasources` tool provides a map of your environment. Cline uses this to verify that your service connects to the correct metrics backend. It ensures your configuration matches reality. If the datasource list changes, Cline updates its internal context to reflect the new infrastructure.
