How to Use the Grafana MCP in Windsurf
Connect your Grafana instance to Windsurf and let Cascade pull live metrics and dashboard state into your codebase.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Grafana MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Grafana to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Chain dashboard discovery with Windsurf
Stop hunting through browser tabs for system metrics. Use `search_dashboards` to locate the specific dashboard you need, then let Cascade pull the full configuration using `get_dashboard`. Windsurf reads the panel queries directly from the resulting JSON. It connects your code to the actual data sources used in production.
Monitor production alerts in Windsurf
Cascade stays ahead of outages by checking `firing_alerts` automatically. It parses labels and annotations to tell you exactly which services are failing. You avoid manual context switching. The agent grabs the current alert state and suggests code fixes based on the active labels in your MCP Server.
Manage Grafana datasources via Windsurf
Verify your environment configuration without leaving your editor. The `list_datasources` tool exposes every connection available to your Grafana instance. Cascade validates your backend setup by inspecting these sources. It ensures your code points to the correct Prometheus or Loki instances before you run a single test.
