Multi-Agent Feed Monitoring

The Inoreader MCP Server lets your CrewAI agents divide and conquer massive feed volumes. One agent can monitor feed sizes using `get_unread_counts`, while another parses the articles using `list_stream_contents`. This division of labor keeps your operations fast. Instead of a single script choking on hundreds of articles, specialized agents filter and prioritize the data stream in parallel.

Autonomous Subscription Management

The `quick_add_subscription` tool lets your crew expand your information network based on research findings. When a research agent finds a valuable new blog, it passes the URL to a manager agent to register the source. The new source is added instantly to your account. Your crew can immediately verify the setup by calling `list_subscriptions` to ensure the feed is active and tracking.

Automated Tagging and Cleanup in CrewAI

The `list_tags` tool helps your organizing agent locate existing labels. This agent then applies those labels to incoming items using `edit_tag`. If a tag is no longer useful, the agent can call `delete_tag` to remove it. This ensures your human-facing RSS reader stays clean and focused on high-priority items.

Setup guide

Set up Inoreader MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Inoreader tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Inoreader Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Inoreader data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Inoreader access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Inoreader transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Inoreader MCP in CrewAI

Pass your Vinkius MCP endpoint URL directly into the agent's `mcps` list. The agent will automatically discover tools like `list_stream_contents` and use them during tasks.
Yes, you can set up a sequential crew where the first agent flags old feeds using `get_unread_counts` and the second agent clears them using `mark_all_as_read`.
You should configure your crew's max execution speed or use rate-limiting parameters on the agents. This prevents them from calling `list_stream_contents` too frequently and hitting API caps.
Yes, agents with the proper task descriptions can call `rename_tag` to update folder names. This is useful for keeping your folder structure aligned with changing project names.
Your RSS subscriptions, folder names, and read states are never stored on Vinkius servers. All requests are routed through secure, ephemeral containers that discard session data immediately after execution.
