Connect Mediastack MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Mediastack to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Automated News Monitoring
The `get_news` tool allows Cascade to fetch real-time global headlines without waiting for your permission. When you set up a research agent, it chains queries automatically, reads the contents, and refines its next search without you clicking a single button. This means you get a self-directed research assistant inside your IDE. If a breaking story hits, this MCP server lets Cascade process the text, spot trends, and update your workspace files instantly.
Filter Sources in Windsurf
The `list_sources` tool fetches the active publishers from over 7,500 available outlets. Cascade can query this list, match it against your target criteria, and ignore the noise. Filtering happens before the heavy lifting starts. By targeting specific domains, your agent avoids wasting context limits on spammy blogs and gets straight to high-signal reporting.
Historical Research Chaining
The `get_news` tool accepts specific date parameters so Cascade can build historical timelines. It requests the data, parses the timestamps, and writes a clean markdown summary of the timeline. No manual switching between browser tabs to copy-paste old articles. Your agent handles the API calls, reads the payload, and outputs structured history directly into your project files.
