Control Video Assets with the Mux MCP Server
The Mux MCP Server connects Claude directly to your video asset library. You ask Claude to spin up a new video entry, and it fires the `create_asset` tool to return the playback ID. If you need client-side ingest, it pulls secure upload URLs using `create_direct_upload` so your frontend team can bypass your backend entirely. Instead of opening browser tabs to check dashboards, you just ask your agent what is currently processing. Claude hits `list_assets` and `list_direct_uploads` to give you the exact ingest status. When a test file gets stuck, you tell Claude to run `delete_asset` and clear the queue right from the chat interface.
Manage Live Broadcast Infrastructure
Broadcasting requires immediate feedback, and Claude Desktop handles this by controlling your live infrastructure. You type a prompt to start an event, and Claude executes `create_live_stream` to generate the RTMP keys. It prints those keys straight into your local conversation window. During the broadcast, you can monitor the connection state. Claude uses `get_live_stream` to pull the active ingest metrics and `list_live_streams` to show everything running on your account. When the event ends, a quick command triggers `delete_live_stream` to shut down the endpoint and stop the billing clock.
Analyze Playback Performance
You need to know if people actually watch the video files Claude just processed. Your AI client hits `get_recent_views` to pull the playback analytics directly into your desktop environment. You see the exact viewer counts without logging into a separate metrics portal. This data feeds right back into your workflow. Claude reads the view metrics and correlates them with the specific asset IDs fetched via `get_asset`. You get a complete picture of your media performance inside your local workspace.
