Automate terminal-based IoT diagnostics

Claude Code brings your physical hardware into your command-line workflow. By running `list_devices` and `get_sensor_data`, the agent inspects myDevices hardware states without requiring a web browser. You can pipe these terminal outputs to other CLI utilities. It allows you to quickly inspect telemetry or check active myDevices alerts during SSH sessions.

Trigger remote scripts via this MCP Server

Running cron jobs or bash scripts that interact with physical devices is straightforward. This tools setup lets Claude Code execute `send_command` directly from terminal prompts to toggle relays or reboot gateways. The agent checks `list_alerts` immediately afterward to confirm the command succeeded. It makes scripting myDevices physical infrastructure as predictable as managing cloud servers.

Extract and analyze sensor histories

When diagnosing long-term hardware drift, you need raw data. Claude Code calls `get_sensor_history` to dump chronological records directly into your shell using this MCP toolset. The agent can parse this output, calculate averages, and cross-reference them with `get_device` specifications. You get instant statistical analysis of your myDevices physical sensors without manual exports.

Setup guide

Set up myDevices MCP in Claude Code

Prerequisites

  • Claude Code CLI installed (npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Run the add command

Open your terminal and run the command shown on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com. Use --scope user to make it available across all projects.

  2. 2

    Verify the connection

Start a Claude Code session and type /mcp to list connected servers. You should see mydevices-mcp with a green status indicator.

  3. 3

    Start using tools

Ask Claude Code something like "Check my latest myDevices transactions." It will automatically discover and invoke the available myDevices tools.

Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http mydevices-mcp https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp

Common questions about myDevices MCP in Claude Code

Run the command `claude mcp add --transport http mydevices -- ` in your terminal. Ensure all transport flags are positioned before the myDevices server name.
Yes, you can script Claude Code to run headless MCP checks using `list_alerts` and `get_sensor_data`. It is perfect for lightweight myDevices monitoring setups run via local cron jobs.
Yes, the agent can loop through a list of IDs retrieved from `list_devices` and trigger `send_command` sequentially. This saves you from writing complex bash loops for myDevices.
The server streams data efficiently. When calling `get_sensor_history`, Claude Code formats the chronological output so you can easily pipe it to local files or grep tools.
This MCP Server transmits your telemetry logs and Cayenne credentials via secure local transports. Your physical device states are processed on ephemeral instances, ensuring your private sensor data is never leaked.
