Run live hardware checks in Claude Desktop
The myDevices MCP Server exposes the `list_devices` and `list_sensors` tools so you can inspect your IoT fleet directly from your desktop chat interface. Your local Claude Desktop agent queries the Cayenne API, pulls your active hardware inventory, and displays sensor configurations right next to your open chat session. Once you locate a specific node, you can invoke `get_device` to fetch its connection status and metadata. This lets you debug offline hardware or verify device provisioning without jumping back and forth to the Cayenne dashboard.
Track real-time telemetry from your chat window
Get instant telemetry updates using the `get_sensor_data` tool in your Claude Desktop workspace. When you ask about a room's temperature or a machine's power draw, your agent pulls the exact current value from the physical sensor. If you need to analyze trends, the `get_sensor_history` tool pulls historical datapoints over a custom timeframe. Claude Desktop can then parse this raw telemetry to plot trends or calculate runtimes directly in your local environment.
Send commands and manage alerts instantly
Control your physical hardware by running `send_command` directly from Claude Desktop. You can toggle relays, reset controllers, or adjust setpoints by typing a plain English request to your agent, which translates it into a Cayenne payload. Keep an eye on system health by calling `list_alerts` to find active threshold violations. If an alert pops up, your agent can immediately fire off a corrective command to restore normal operations.
