Connect LiveKit Real-Time Rooms MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect LiveKit Real-Time Rooms to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Control session participants
The `list_participants` tool shows every person currently in the room, giving you a roster of who's connected. You can also use `get_participant` to pull specific details on one user—like their current status or metadata. Need to kick someone out? Running `remove_participant` forces them off the call and revokes their token. This is critical when your agent needs to manage group access.
Manage room state and data
You can update both the global room settings using `update_room_metadata`, or target a single user with `update_participant_metadata`. Remember, structured JSON strings work best for this. This lets your agent attach context to specific sessions. Want to send information across the call? The `send_data` tool transmits messages—use 'reliable' if you can't afford to lose any data.
Create and dismantle rooms
Start a new session with `create_room`, letting participants join using access tokens. This is the first step whenever your agent needs to initiate a live meeting or test environment. When the job's done, `delete_room` clears out all connections instantly. It requires `roomCreate` permissions, which makes sense since you're shutting down everything.
