Plan multi-step venue booking chains.

The `list_events` tool starts your reasoning chain by fetching a list of current and upcoming events. From there, an agent can decide it needs specific data, like checking the capacity via `get_event_details`, before proposing next steps. This makes LangChain ideal for booking agents. You build pipelines where the output of listing attendees (`list_event_registrations`) feeds directly into creating a new speaker record using `create_speaker`.

Track and compare event data flows.

When you need to see what worked last time, start by calling `get_event_analytics`. This result can then be passed to another tool, like `list_recordings`, so your agent compares past engagement metrics against available content. This whole flow is visible in LangSmith. You'll track the latency and inputs for every step—like verifying event details with `get_event_details` before sending a final confirmation.

Automate venue setup from scratch.

If you're building an agent that needs to launch a new conference, it first calls `create_event`. Once the event exists, the next logical step is registering talent by calling `create_speaker`. You don't write sequential code; your ReAct agent decides this order based on the user prompt. It handles all the necessary steps—from creation to listing initial details using `list_speakers`.

Setup guide

Set up Venue MCP in LangChain

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • langchain-mcp-adapters + langgraph packages
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install dependencies

    Run pip install langchain-mcp-adapters langgraph langchain-openai. The MCP adapters package converts MCP tools into native LangChain BaseTool objects.

  2. 2

    Connect via HTTP transport

    Use MultiServerMCPClient with "transport": "http" pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create a ReAct agent

    Pass the discovered tools to create_react_agent() from LangGraph. The agent automatically routes Venue tool calls through the MCP protocol.

  4. 4

    Run with any LLM

    Swap ChatOpenAI for ChatAnthropic, ChatGoogleGenerativeAI, or any LangChain-compatible model. The MCP tools work identically across all providers.

agent.py
from langchain_mcp_adapters.client import MultiServerMCPClient
from langgraph.prebuilt import create_react_agent
from langchain_openai import ChatOpenAI

async with MultiServerMCPClient({
    "venue-mcp": {
        "transport": "http",
        "url": "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp",
    }
}) as client:
    tools = client.get_tools()

    agent = create_react_agent(
        ChatOpenAI(model="gpt-4o"),
        tools,
    )
    result = await agent.ainvoke({
        "messages": "List recent Venue transactions"
    })
    print(result["messages"][-1].content)

Common questions about Venue MCP in LangChain

The MCP Server provides tools like `get_event_analytics`. You pass the resulting data to your chain, and it allows subsequent steps in your workflow to decide how that metric should be used.
Yep. Your agent can call `list_recordings` after getting basic event context via `get_event_details`. This lets you build a chain that confirms the venue details and then retrieves all associated video content.
The server doesn't expose a direct contract tool, but it does allow you to list event attendees using `list_event_registrations`. You can build a chain that processes this roster data for your application.
You use the `list_events` tool. This gives you a list of existing events, and then you can sequence calls to tools like `get_event_details` for each one in the batch.
The MCP Server includes a basic tool, `get_me`, which retrieves general account information. Your agent can call this as part of validating user permissions before executing more complex venue tools.
