Audit object access control in Wasabi.

Use `get_object_access_control` to pull the ACL for a specific file. This helps the whole team verify permissions before committing code that touches data. Need to know where your bucket physically resides? Run `get_bucket_datacenter_location` and get the geographic region.

Manage storage buckets via MCP Server.

To start a new container, call `create_storage_bucket`. You must provide a globally unique lower-kebab-case name. The team can then use this bucket in their code. Checking existing containers is easy with `list_storage_buckets`.

Check object and bucket state.

The Copilot Chat can run `get_bucket_versioning_status` to confirm if version tracking is active. It also runs `list_bucket_objects`, giving the whole team a quick overview of files, sizes, and dates. If you need to fix incomplete uploads, `list_pending_multipart_uploads` checks for them.

Setup guide

Set up Wasabi MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the Wasabi MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the Wasabi tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent Wasabi transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.

Common questions about Wasabi MCP in VS Code Copilot

Use the `get_bucket_versioning_status` tool. It reports directly on the object versioning status for your bucket, letting the team know what they're working with.
Yes, you can use `delete_bucket_object`. Just be aware that this action is irreversible. The tool requires explicit confirmation before deletion.
Yup. Running `list_storage_buckets` shows every single storage bucket visible to your authenticated IAM user, giving the whole team a full inventory.
The tool `delete_storage_bucket` removes a container entirely. It requires the bucket to be completely empty first, and that action is also irreversible.
This MCP Server manages object metadata: file keys, sizes, ACLs, versioning states, and the structure of the cloud storage objects themselves.
