Team-Based Proxy Monitoring with MCP Server

You can assign a specialized 'Monitor Agent' to watch the connection status. This agent uses `list_proxies` and can report on the health of assigned IPs, identifying exactly which proxies are failing or need attention. A separate 'Action Agent' then takes over by calling tools like `request_proxy_replacement` when the monitor flags an issue.

Coordinated IP Whitelisting and Quota Checks

The CrewAI team can execute a sequence: first, a 'Research Agent' checks quotas using `get_account_profile`. If limits are fine, the 'Executor Agent' runs `authorize_new_ip` to grant access. It’s role-based authorization in action. This multi-agent setup makes complex infrastructure management feel simple and structured.

Full Lifecycle Proxy Management with CrewAI

The agents can manage the entire lifecycle. They list IPs with `list_authorized_ips`, check usage history via `get_bandwidth_stats`, and if necessary, they write off access by calling `revoke_ip_authorization` when a proxy is no longer needed. It's autonomous operation for your proxy network.

Setup guide

Set up Webshare MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Webshare tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Webshare Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Webshare data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Webshare access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Webshare transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Webshare MCP in CrewAI

The team can be programmed to monitor the authorized IPs using `list_authorized_ips`. If a change is detected, one agent can automatically run `authorize_new_ip` to keep the connection active.
The agents get detailed stats via `get_bandwidth_stats` and also check current limits using `get_account_profile`. These tools ensure your autonomous operations are always within budget.
Yes. The team uses `list_proxies` to gather all necessary details, including ports and credentials, allowing a dedicated agent to audit the current setup.
A specialized 'Admin Agent' uses `authorize_new_ip` to add IPs to the whitelist. It can also use `revoke_ip_authorization` when access needs to be terminated.
This server handles IP addresses, quotas, and authorization lists. The MCP Server gives the agents direct control over which specific IP addresses are whitelisted and how they are used.
