Write new WordPress posts with minimal input.

Need to dump some initial content? You run `create_cms_post`, supplying just the title, body text, and whether it should start as a draft or published piece. Cline handles the API call, letting you treat the CMS like local data.

Model and update existing WordPress content.

If the post needs tweaking after deployment, use `update_cms_post`. You provide the ID and a JSON payload defining the fields. This means you're not just listing things; you're modifying them in place.

Audit site structure using WordPress tools.

You can quickly map out what exists on your site. Cline uses `list_site_categories` to pull all defined taxonomies, and it runs through tags with `list_site_tags`. This data lets you build accurate frontend components.

Common questions about WordPress MCP in Cline

Cline uses the `list_site_posts` tool, which supports standard WP query parameters. You can filter by categories or limit the number of results to get exactly what you need for your code component.
Yes, it executes `delete_cms_post`. If you want permanent removal, you must set force to true; otherwise, the post just goes into the trash bin.
It can use `list_site_users` to pull a list of all registered users. This is useful if you're building an admin dashboard component that needs access control logic.
Absolutely. You can use `list_static_pages` to pull all the core non-blog content from your site, which is perfect for generating documentation or landing page components.
The server handles user account information via `list_site_users`. When writing code that interacts with these endpoints, remember to validate all inputs before committing them to the repository.
