How to Use the X (Twitter) MCP in Cursor
Inject live X (Twitter) data right into your code with Cursor. Write smarter, not harder.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect X (Twitter) MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect X (Twitter) to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Code Generation using `search_recent_tweets`
When you call the `search_recent_tweets` tool, the agent pulls real public tweets based on your query. Cursor then injects that live data directly into the code block you're writing. You don't get stubs here; you get functional context showing what people are actually saying about a hashtag.
Contextualizing Users with `lookup_user_by_username`
Need to check an account's legitimacy? The `lookup_user_by_username` tool fetches follower counts and bio details. Cursor uses this real API response to inform your code, letting you build logic around verified status or large followings. It keeps the live X (Twitter) context right where your cursor is blinking.
Analyzing Tweet Metrics with `get_tweet_details`
Using `get_tweet_details`, you feed a specific tweet ID into the agent. The tool returns engagement metrics—likes, retweets, and text—which Cursor then uses to write code that analyzes virality. This means your generated functions work with real-world social data.
