Analyze User Profiles with the MCP Server

The `lookup_user_by_username` tool fetches a user's full profile. You instantly get their follower count, bio text, and verified status. Cascade reads this context and allows you to plan subsequent actions based on that data.

Search for Topics Using the MCP Server

`search_recent_tweets` finds public tweets within the last seven days. Just give it a query—a keyword, hashtag, or handle—and Cascade pulls the results. This means you don't have to write complex filtering logic; you just state your goal.

Check Tweet Details with the MCP Server

Need specific metrics for a single post? The `get_tweet_details` tool requires only a numeric ID. It returns both the tweet text and its engagement data. Windsurf's Cascade handles this retrieval, feeding the numbers back into your running workflow.

Common questions about X (Twitter) MCP in Windsurf

Use `search_recent_tweets` and provide your query string. Cascade executes the search, giving you a list of public tweets from the last seven days. You don't need to manage date ranges or pagination manually.
Yes. The `lookup_user_by_username` tool fetches core profile data, including the follower count and bio text. This helps you understand who a key account is before proceeding with other steps in your workflow.
It handles three core actions: searching tweets, looking up users, and getting tweet details. Since Cascade manages the flow, you can build complex multi-step analyses without writing explicit chaining code.
This server touches user profile data, specific numeric Tweet IDs, and tweet engagement metrics. These are the three data points necessary for social intelligence workflows.
You set the goal—for example, 'Find the top 5 accounts discussing product X.' Cascade then automatically determines that it needs to run `search_recent_tweets` first, followed by multiple calls to `lookup_user_by_username`.
