How to Use the Zulip MCP in Cursor
Let Cursor run live code calling Zulip APIs for real-time context injection.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Zulip MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Zulip to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Injecting Live Messages using the MCP Server
When you need context, `zulip_get_messages` retrieves message history from a specific stream. The AI agent uses this live data to write code that accurately reflects current project discussions. This is better than stubs—the generated function calls use real messages pulled directly via the MCP Server.
Automating Communications with Cursor
The `zulip_send_message` tool lets your agent write code that sends updates. You can target a stream for group announcements or send a private message to a teammate, all programmatically. Don't forget status updates. Running `zulip_set_presence` allows the AI to include calls that update the user's availability in the Zulip context.
Mapping Out Workspace Structure
Need to know what channels exist? The `zulip_get_streams` tool lists all available streams. This helps the AI write code that iterates over every possible communication channel. For user context, use `zulip_get_users` to list everyone in the organization. That data feeds into your scripts immediately.
