Key Capabilities

Resolve layout debates with visual proof

Executing `quick_snap` lets a runner agent capture a visual check when a QA agent requests it. The agents then discuss the rendered image to check if the layout matches expectations, correcting issues without human intervention. When testing dynamic interfaces, the runner agent can use `quick_snap_with_options` to set custom delays or inject CSS overrides. This gives your agent group the exact visual state they need to make a consensus-based decision.

Coordinate rendering setups across agents

Calling `create_screenshot_config` lets one agent establish a baseline layout configuration. Another agent can then call `get_screenshot_config` to check the settings before executing a run, ensuring everyone is on the same page. If the design team updates a component, a designer agent can invoke `update_screenshot_config` to adjust the viewport dimensions. The entire agent cluster immediately gets the updated settings on their next run, preventing false alarms.

Automate UI cleanup using this MCP Server

Running `list_screenshot_configs` lets your agents find orphaned profiles that are no longer in use. A coordinator agent then issues commands to run `delete_screenshot_config` on those expired targets. For isolated component testing, your agents can generate raw mockups and render them using `snap_custom_html`. This allows your team of agents to test interface changes locally before committing code to your repository.

Setup guide

Set up PagePixels MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes PagePixels tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="PagePixels_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent PagePixels data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about PagePixels MCP in AutoGen

You register the tools with your AssistantAgent using the AutoGen MCP extension. Once registered, the agents can discuss when to trigger `quick_snap` or update a config. They coordinate tool execution through their standard chat logs.
Yes, they can. One agent can create a profile using `create_screenshot_config`, and any other agent in the group can read it via `get_screenshot_config`. This makes it easy to share rendering settings across your entire team.
Running headless browsers locally inside multi-agent loops is slow and resource-heavy. PagePixels offloads the heavy rendering to a dedicated API, letting your agents focus on reasoning. It keeps your local runtime light and fast.
The adapter handles everything behind the scenes. It takes the JSON schemas from Vinkius and maps them to AutoGen's tool format. Your agents can call complex tools like `quick_snap_with_options` without manual parameter mapping.
All HTML payloads, configuration settings, and rendering instructions are handled in ephemeral, zero-trust sandboxes. Vinkius manages the MCP authentication tokens securely, ensuring no raw code or screenshot outputs are leaked. Your intellectual property is fully isolated.
