Key Capabilities

Chain visual captures with LangChain agents

Running `quick_snap` lets your agent see what a webpage looks like before deciding its next step. By plugging this MCP Server into your pipeline, your model can grab a visual of any URL. It feeds that raw image right into the next link in your chain, letting visual data drive decision making. You can also pass custom raw code directly using `snap_custom_html` to render dynamic mockups on the fly. LangSmith tracks every payload, so you see the exact HTML inputs and output image paths without guessing where a chain broke.

Manage persistent rendering configurations

Using `create_screenshot_config` lets your pipeline save your viewport, wait times, and CSS overrides once. Your agent just calls `get_screenshot_config` when it needs to run a test, keeping your prompt tokens low. If a layout changes, the agent can use `update_screenshot_config` to adjust the settings. There is no need to rewrite your application code or redeploy your chains just to fix a broken screenshot resolution.

Automate visual regression checks

Automating your visual testing starts with `list_screenshot_configs` to grab your active targets. The agent handles the whole lifecycle, cleaning up old setups using `delete_screenshot_config` when they are no longer needed. For one-off checks that don't need a saved profile, the agent defaults to `quick_snap_with_options`. This lets you inject custom CSS or set specific delays on the fly, giving your chain total control over the rendering engine.

Setup guide

Set up PagePixels MCP in LangChain

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • langchain-mcp-adapters + langgraph packages
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install dependencies

    Run pip install langchain-mcp-adapters langgraph langchain-openai. The MCP adapters package converts MCP tools into native LangChain BaseTool objects.

  2. 2

    Connect via HTTP transport

    Use MultiServerMCPClient with "transport": "http" pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create a ReAct agent

    Pass the discovered tools to create_react_agent() from LangGraph. The agent automatically routes PagePixels tool calls through the MCP protocol.

  4. 4

    Run with any LLM

    Swap ChatOpenAI for ChatAnthropic, ChatGoogleGenerativeAI, or any LangChain-compatible model. The MCP tools work identically across all providers.

agent.py
from langchain_mcp_adapters.client import MultiServerMCPClient
from langgraph.prebuilt import create_react_agent
from langchain_openai import ChatOpenAI

async with MultiServerMCPClient({
    "pagepixels-mcp": {
        "transport": "http",
        "url": "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp",
    }
}) as client:
    tools = client.get_tools()

    agent = create_react_agent(
        ChatOpenAI(model="gpt-4o"),
        tools,
    )
    result = await agent.ainvoke({
        "messages": "List recent PagePixels transactions"
    })
    print(result["messages"][-1].content)

Common questions about PagePixels MCP in LangChain

You install the MCP adapter package and initialize the multi-server client with your Vinkius endpoint. From there, extract the tools and pass them directly to your agent constructor. The agent will automatically select the right tool based on the user's prompt.
Yes, you can track everything inside LangSmith. It logs the exact inputs sent to `quick_snap_with_options` alongside the token costs of the tool call. This makes it easy to monitor your rendering budget in production.
Saving your settings with `create_screenshot_config` saves bandwidth and money. Instead of passing massive JSON payloads on every step, your agent simply references a config ID. It keeps your LangChain prompts short and fast.
The MCP adapter translates API errors into standard exceptions that your chain can catch. Your agent can inspect the failure, adjust its parameters, and try again with a different setup. It handles retries gracefully without crashing your entire pipeline.
All URL strings, raw HTML source code, and rendered PNG files are processed inside an isolated sandbox environment. Vinkius secures the API keys, and your target data is never stored or used to train models. Your visual assets remain strictly yours.
