Key Capabilities

Agents debate workspace changes

AutoGen lets multiple agents argue over your files. You set up a cleanup agent that wants to run `delete_file` on old diagrams. A separate compliance agent pushes back. It checks `list_collaborators` to see if anyone active is still attached to the file. They negotiate a consensus before executing anything.

Delegate ProcessOn MCP Server tasks

You don't want one massive agent doing everything. Split the workload. Assign one agent to strictly handle `get_folder_content` and map the territory. Assign a second agent to execute `create_file` based on the first agent's map. They pass messages back and forth, handling the flowchart organization autonomously.

Audit exports automatically

Managing file exports manually is a waste of time. An AutoGen watcher agent can monitor `get_recent_files` for new additions. When it spots one, it alerts a publisher agent. That second agent runs `export_file` and distributes the mind map to the team. Zero human intervention required.

Setup guide

Set up ProcessOn MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes ProcessOn tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="ProcessOn_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent ProcessOn data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about ProcessOn MCP in AutoGen

Use `mcp_server_tools` with your HTTP parameters. AutoGen's `McpToolAdapter` automatically translates the ProcessOn tool schemas for your `AssistantAgent`.
Yes. One agent can read the current state with `list_folders`, propose a new structure, and have a manager agent approve the changes.
Only if you let it. You should keep a human in the loop for the `delete_file` tool, or write strict system prompts requiring multi-agent consensus first.
If `get_file` fails because a diagram was moved, the executing agent reports the error back to the group. The agents discuss the failure and try a different search.
It processes your file names, folder hierarchies, and collaborator emails. Vinkius strips all credentials at the edge, ensuring your team's flowchart metadata stays isolated within the MCP Server.
