Key Capabilities

Browse ProcessOn folders using Google ADK

Navigation is native to your agent now. Use `list_folders` and `get_folder_content` to map out your diagram structure before performing any action. Your agent parses this hierarchy to find the right file. It avoids guessing by checking `get_file` metadata before it attempts to modify or export your work.

Sync diagram data with Google ADK workflows

Integrate your diagram library with your broader data stack. Your agent uses `list_files` to feed file lists into your Google Cloud processes. It keeps your agent informed about the latest state of your projects. By calling `get_recent_files`, the agent reacts to your most active diagrams instantly.

Execute programmatic exports for Google ADK agents

Automate your reporting by piping ProcessOn diagrams into your cloud storage. The `export_file` tool handles the heavy lifting so your agent can focus on logic. This creates a bridge between your visual diagrams and your data pipelines. Your agent confirms the export status before moving to the next task in your workflow.

Setup guide

Set up ProcessOn MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with ProcessOn tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="ProcessOn_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to ProcessOn tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about ProcessOn MCP in Google ADK

Yes. The server supports both Stdio and HTTP transports. You configure the McpToolset in your ADK setup to match your preferred connection method.
Yes. You can use the tool_names filter in your McpToolset configuration. This restricts the agent to only the tools you want it to use, like `list_files`.
You need one endpoint token from Vinkius. Pass this token through your server configuration to authorize all requests made by your Google ADK agent.
Your agent can process large amounts of diagram metadata using Gemini's context window. This makes navigating complex folder structures with `list_folders` very effective.
Security is handled via Vinkius's zero-trust sandbox. Your diagram metadata is accessed only through the authorized endpoint, ensuring your internal file structure stays private.
