Key Capabilities
Audit Data Schema Integrity
Need to know what's under the hood? Running `list_databases` shows every accessible database, letting you scope out your project before writing a single line of code. You can then drill down with `list_schemas` and `list_tables`. This gives you the full map of where data lives; it’s critical for making sure your component imports the right API data.
Run & Validate SQL Queries
Fire off any query you need by calling `execute_sql`. It returns results immediately or gives you a handle if the job runs long. You can then use `describe_table` to verify that the column types match what your component expects. This function lets you test data access patterns against Snowflake without committing changes, keeping your local environment clean.
Manage Security Context
Before accessing sensitive tables, check permissions with `list_roles` and `list_users`. This confirms who has what privileges within the MCP Server. Knowing this upfront prevents runtime failures when building a dashboard. You also get visibility into compute resources via `list_warehouses`, ensuring your connection won't hit performance walls during testing.
