Key Capabilities
Run Audits Across Databases
Need to scope out where the data lives? The `list_databases` tool lets your agent map every accessible database in Snowflake quickly. Cascade figures out which databases matter and lists them all so you can start building a full audit plan. Beyond just listing, the server gives access to `list_schemas` and `list_tables`. If you're trying to figure out data scope, your agent will check schemas first, then tables, ensuring nothing gets missed.
Examine Data Structure Details
When the schema looks messy or undocumented, use the `describe_table` tool. It pulls back the full column list and data types for any target table you point it at. This is critical for making sure your downstream code expects the right kind of data. If you're unsure what a specific query will hit, running `describe_table` first saves massive amounts of time later on. It tells you exactly what structure Snowflake is working with before the agent executes any SQL.
Manage and Verify Access Rights
Security auditing shouldn't feel like guesswork. The `list_roles` tool lets your autonomous agent check all existing security roles within Snowflake. You can use this to see if the current user has access where they should. It also gives you visibility into who is using the platform via `list_users` and helps verify compute capacity by listing active warehouses (`list_warehouses`). This makes it easier to map out proper permissions.
