Set up Atera MCP in Claude Web or Desktop

Open Claude Settings

Go to claude.ai, click your profile icon, then navigate to Customize → Connectors.

Add Custom Connector

Click the "+" button and select Add custom connector. Paste your Vinkius endpoint URL: https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. For OAuth-protected servers, expand Advanced settings to add credentials.

Start a conversation

Open a new chat. The Atera MCP tools are available immediately — no restart needed.

Open Claude Desktop Settings

Click the menu icon at the top-left corner, go to Settings → Developer → Edit Config. This opens claude_desktop_config.json in your default text editor.

Paste the Atera MCP configuration

Copy the JSON snippet on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

Restart Claude Desktop

Close and reopen the application. Claude needs a full restart to load new MCPs — refreshing a conversation is not enough.

Verify the connection

Open a new conversation. Click the 🔌 icon at the bottom of the message input. You should see tools listed under atera-mcp.

You can connect your Atera account in two ways. Use the Claude Desktop app for a local connection, or paste the Vinkius MCP Server URL into the Custom Connectors section on the claude.ai website for cloud access.

You can ask Claude things like "Create a ticket for Acme Corp about a printer issue," or "List all tickets for John Doe." You can also check on devices with "Show me details for agent ID 9876."

It's faster for quick tasks. You don't have to leave your chat to create a ticket or look up a customer. For complex administrative work, the full Atera web app is still your best bet.

Yes. Just tell Claude what you need. For example: "Open a high-priority ticket for Innotech about their server being down." The tool will handle the creation in Atera.

The server acts as a pass-through. It fetches Atera customer and ticket data on-demand for your query and sends it to your client. The server itself is ephemeral and doesn't store your data after the request is complete.
