Multi-Agent IT Triage Crew

The `list_tickets` tool provides your triage agent with a complete queue of open customer issues. A second dispatcher agent then uses `get_ticket` to extract technical logs and assign the issue to the correct department. Because CrewAI agents share memory, the dispatcher remembers previous resolutions for the same customer. This collaborative approach ensures tickets get routed accurately without human intervention.

Autonomous Alert Resolution via CrewAI

The `list_alerts` tool monitors active system events, passing critical warnings to a dedicated analyst agent. When a server goes offline, the analyst calls `get_agent` to identify the machine's location, IP, and hardware specs. If the issue requires customer contact, a separate communicator agent uses `get_customer` to grab the account details. The entire investigation happens in seconds, preparing a detailed brief for your human staff.

Automated Ticket Generation with MCP Server

The `create_ticket` tool allows your autonomous crew to document system issues as soon as they are detected. A monitoring agent identifies a failing service, while a writer agent drafts the ticket summary and submits it. This MCP server capability prevents duplicate tickets from cluttering your helpdesk when multiple alerts trigger at once. You can restrict access so agents only use `list_agents` to verify device status before opening a ticket.

Setup guide

Set up Atera MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Atera tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Atera Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Atera data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Atera access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Atera transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Atera MCP in CrewAI

Pass the server URL directly in your Agent definition using the MCP integration. You can restrict tools like `create_ticket` to your dispatcher agent while letting other agents only read data.
Yes. Your writer agent can use the `create_ticket` tool to log details, while other agents use `list_tickets` to track ongoing support progress across the team.
The framework supports SSE, stdio, and Streamable HTTP. Vinkius provides a secure HTTP endpoint that your crew connects to with zero configuration.
No. You define your agents, tasks, and the MCP server endpoint in Python, and CrewAI manages the execution order and tool calls automatically.
Your customer details and device agent data are protected using Vinkius's ephemeral MCP sandbox. No data is stored or logged outside of your active execution session, ensuring complete privacy.
