Connect Bear MCP to Claude Desktop
Create your Vinkius account to connect Bear to Claude Desktop and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Search and read native documents
The Bear MCP Server allows your Claude Desktop agent to search your entire note database using `search_notes` and retrieve full markdown content with `open_note`. You ask Claude about that meeting from last Tuesday, and it pulls the exact text instantly. Instead of switching windows to copy-paste context, Claude reads your local knowledge base directly. It grabs the relevant notes, reads the tags, and feeds that raw information straight into your chat session.
Write notes via the Claude Desktop MCP Server
Creating new documentation happens instantly because the agent executes `create_note` and `add_text` right from the conversation. You tell Claude to summarize a PDF, and it dumps that summary straight into a fresh Bear note. Appending ideas to existing documents works the same way. When you brainstorm a new feature, Claude prepends the finalized specs to your project root note without you ever touching the Bear app interface.
Global tag management via MCP
Restructuring your knowledge base takes seconds when the agent runs `list_tags` to map your nested hierarchy and `rename_tag` to fix inconsistencies. Claude spots that you have both '#meeting' and '#meetings' and merges them globally. Cleaning up obsolete categories is handled through `delete_tag` and `archive_note`. You just instruct the agent to sweep old project tags, and it completely removes those constraints across all mapped documents.
