Connect Bear MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Bear to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Write Documentation with Cline
Cline executes the `create_note` and `add_text` tools to generate markdown records based on your active codebase. You tell the agent to document a new feature, and it writes the native Bear note right then and there. It pulls the actual code, formats it properly, and saves the file. Updating existing docs requires zero manual effort. The agent prepends or appends chunks of markdown to your live notes. When you refactor a component, Cline updates the corresponding reference material immediately.
Pull Context via Bear MCP Server
Accessing your past ideas happens through the `search_notes` and `open_note` tools. Cline searches across all your Bear app notes for specific keywords or @todo tags. It retrieves the explicit, complete markdown content and feeds it directly into your VS Code environment. Tag-based retrieval groups related context fast. The agent runs `open_tag` to list all notes matching a specific category. It reads the architectural decisions you saved last year and applies them to the current sprint.
Refactor Your Global Tags
The `rename_tag`, `list_tags`, and `delete_tag` tools give your agent complete control over your Bear taxonomy. Cline retrieves the exact parent and child tag nesting globally. If your naming conventions change, the agent renames an entire tag across all mapped notes in one operation. Cleaning up dead files is equally direct. Your agent uses `archive_note` or `trash_note` to remove explicit notes from your active view. It keeps your workspace organized while you build.
