Headless MCP Server Dependency Checks

CI/CD pipelines need reliable ways to verify game modifications before deployment. You run Claude Code in your GitHub Action to validate a modpack manifest. The agent reads your JSON file and chunks the IDs. It passes those chunks to `get_files_batch` through the MCP Server. If a specific version was pulled by the author, the pipeline catches it immediately. You avoid pushing a broken server update to your player base.

Scripting Mod Updates via CLI

Maintaining a dedicated WoW server means checking for interface updates constantly. You set up a cron job that pings your terminal agent every night. It runs `get_game` to verify the current retail patch. Next, it scans your installed add-ons and queries `get_mod_file_changelog` for recent updates. If the HTML changelog shows critical bug fixes, the script writes a summary to your Discord webhook. Your community knows exactly what changed before they log in.

Bulk Fingerprint Scanning

System administrators dealing with massive archives of unlabeled game files need a fast sorting method. You pipe a directory listing into your AI client. It generates MD5 hashes for thousands of .jar files locally. Those hashes go straight into the MCP Server via `get_fingerprints_matches`. The agent maps every random file back to its official project page. Any leftovers get pushed through `get_fingerprints_matches_fuzzy`, turning a messy archive into a structured database.

Common questions about CurseForge MCP in Claude Code

Run `claude mcp add --transport http curseforge-mcp -- ` in your terminal. Ensure you place all transport flags before the server name. The configuration saves directly to your local JSON file.
Yes. The tool fetches raw HTML using the API. Your terminal agent then strips the tags and formats the release notes into clean text or markdown for your shell output.
You can script it easily. The agent loops through your requested mods, calls the download URL tool for each one, and pipes the signed links into wget or curl.
Just ask the CLI to list them. It queries the version endpoints and filters the massive JSON response down to the specific patch number you need.
Security is handled via Vinkius zero-trust architecture. This MCP integration only processes specific mod IDs, file hashes, and category queries. Your terminal history, environment variables, and unrelated shell scripts remain entirely local.
