How to Use the DigitalOcean MCP in Cursor
Write code in Cursor that pulls live DigitalOcean database schemas and droplet states directly into your active editor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect DigitalOcean MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect DigitalOcean to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Write code using live DigitalOcean metadata in Cursor
Cursor lets you generate code that targets your actual DigitalOcean setup by running `get_account_metadata`. Instead of hardcoding dummy IP addresses, your Cursor agent uses `list_compute_droplets` to inject active server IPs right into your deployment scripts.
Debug database and storage configs inside Cursor
Cursor reads your live DigitalOcean database configurations by calling `list_managed_databases` to help you write exact connection logic. When writing storage-heavy applications, the editor executes `list_block_storage_volumes` to verify DigitalOcean volume names and sizes.
Map app services and firewalls using this MCP Server
This MCP Server feeds your DigitalOcean network topology straight into Cursor's autocomplete engine using `list_cloud_firewalls`. If you are building microservices, Cursor calls `list_app_platform_services` to inspect your active DigitalOcean App Platform deployments.
