Export Droplet configurations with Google ADK

The `list_compute_droplets` tool feeds raw virtual machine metadata directly into your Google ADK agent. This lets your Python scripts collect active instance data and pipe it straight into BigQuery for cost analysis. Your Google ADK agent uses `get_droplet_details` to pull specific CPU and memory configurations for individual nodes. Gemini's million-token context window can ingest these massive JSON payloads at once, letting the model find patterns that humans miss.

Track managed databases via Google ADK

This MCP Server exposes `list_managed_databases` and `list_block_storage_volumes` to help your Google ADK agent inventory active storage systems. You can write a single agent that cross-references your database clusters with cloud storage limits. By running the agent on Google ADK, you combine Google Cloud's analytics with external DigitalOcean infrastructure data. The model calls `get_account_metadata` to verify your overall account limits before suggesting database scaling actions.

Analyze network security with Google ADK

The `list_cloud_firewalls` tool lets your Google ADK agent inspect active firewall rules on our MCP Server to verify port security. You don't have to build custom scrapers to check if your databases are exposed to the public web. Through `list_cloud_projects` and `list_dns_domains`, the Google ADK agent groups these network assets by department or client. This gives your Vertex AI models clean, structured inputs to evaluate your overall security posture.

Setup guide

Set up DigitalOcean MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with DigitalOcean tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="DigitalOcean_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to DigitalOcean tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about DigitalOcean MCP in Google ADK

Instantiate `McpToolset` with the Vinkius HTTP transport URL. Pass this toolset directly to your `LlmAgent` to let Gemini models call tools like `list_compute_droplets` natively.
Yes. Use the optional `tool_names` filter in your `McpToolset` configuration to expose only safe tools like `list_cloud_projects` while hiding direct network tools.
Gemini's large context window allows your Google ADK agent to ingest the entire output of `list_managed_databases` and `list_block_storage_volumes` in a single prompt. This eliminates the need for complex pre-filtering of your cloud data.
Yes, the SDK supports both transport methods. For managed Vinkius deployments, you will configure the HTTP transport to securely stream DigitalOcean tool outputs to your agent.
All infrastructure configurations and API responses are encrypted end-to-end. Vinkius executes the server code in zero-trust, ephemeral environments, ensuring your raw database and firewall topologies remain completely private.
