Automate Event Creation & Management

Give your agent a goal, and it will use the Eventmix tools to get it done. It can spin up a new conference with `create_new_event` from a single prompt, then follow up with `update_event_settings` if plans change. You don't write the integration code; you just describe the outcome. The OpenAI SDK's built-in guardrails are critical here. Before your agent runs a destructive command like `remove_virtual_event`, the SDK can require confirmation. This prevents costly mistakes and makes it safe to connect your agents to real-world production systems.

Handle Attendees from RSVP to Follow-up

You can build agents that manage the entire attendee lifecycle. One agent can pull a prospect list, then `send_registration_code` to each person. As RSVPs come in via `submit_event_rsvp`, it can track them and update your records. This is where agent handoffs come in. A registration agent can handle the sign-ups, then pass the final `list_event_attendees` to a day-of-event agent responsible for check-in. The SDK manages the coordination, so you can build specialized agents that do one thing well.

Real-Time Analytics from Your MCP Server

After your event wraps up, your agent can immediately query for results. A simple prompt is all it takes to get your agent to run `get_event_usage_analytics`. You get back structured data on registrations, attendance, and drop-off, without ever touching an API doc. Every action is logged. The OpenAI dashboard gives you a full trace of every tool call, from `get_event_details` to `get_event_schedule`. If your analytics numbers look off, you can see exactly what the agent asked for and what the Eventmix server returned. It makes debugging simple.

Setup guide

Set up Eventmix MCP in OpenAI Agents SDK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • openai-agents package (pip install openai-agents)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install the SDK

    Run pip install openai-agents to install the OpenAI Agents SDK. The MCP integration is built-in — no extra dependencies needed.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use MCPServerSse with your Vinkius endpoint URL. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. The SDK auto-discovers all Eventmix tools at runtime.

  3. 3

    Create your Agent

    Pass the MCP to Agent(mcp_servers=[server]). The agent receives Eventmix tools as native definitions — JSON schemas resolve automatically.

  4. 4

    Run the agent

    Call Runner.run(agent, prompt) to execute. The agent invokes the appropriate Eventmix tools and returns structured results. Copy the full example on the right to get started.

agent.py
import asyncio
from agents import Agent, Runner
from agents.mcp import MCPServerSse

async def main():
    async with MCPServerSse(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ) as server:
        agent = Agent(
            name="Eventmix Agent",
            instructions="You have access to Eventmix tools.",
            mcp_servers=[server],
        )
        result = await Runner.run(agent, "List recent transactions")
        print(result.final_output)

asyncio.run(main())

Common questions about Eventmix MCP in OpenAI Agents SDK

It's automatic. Just pass the Eventmix MCP server endpoint to the agent's constructor. The SDK introspects the server and makes all 12 tools, from `create_new_event` to `get_event_usage_analytics`, available to the agent.
Yes, you control the agent's permissions through its instructions. You can explicitly tell it not to use destructive tools like `remove_virtual_event`. This provides a crucial layer of safety for production environments.
The initial tool discovery is a single network request. For production, just set `cacheToolsList=True` in your configuration. This caches the Eventmix tool definitions so the agent starts instantly on subsequent runs.
Your Vinkius endpoint token handles everything. You include the token in the URL you pass to `MCPServerStreamableHttp`. The SDK then correctly manages passing the credentials for every subsequent API call to Eventmix.
This server only processes the event and attendee information you provide it. This includes data points like titles, schedules, and participant lists needed for tools like `list_event_attendees`. All data is transmitted over TLS to a Vinkius ephemeral sandbox and is not stored persistently.
