Build internal HR tools in Cursor with real Gusto data
The Gusto MCP Server lets you write code in Cursor using actual API payloads from `get_employee` and `list_employees`. Your editor's agent pulls live schema structures directly into your workspace instead of relying on outdated mock objects. If you are writing a custom directory or an onboarding script, Cursor uses these real responses to write typed code. This eliminates runtime type errors because your agent knows the exact shape of your team's records.
Verify payroll schemas during active development
This server exposes `list_payrolls` and `get_payroll` directly to your Cursor chat and composer. You can query past runs to verify how deductions, taxes, and gross pay are structured in production. When building financial dashboards, your agent references these live endpoints to map fields accurately. It means you stop guessing whether a field is nested or flat, speed-running your development cycle.
Map office locations and departments in code
The `list_locations` and `list_departments` tools provide geographical and organizational structures from the MCP Server straight to your editor. Your agent uses this live context to populate dropdown menus or set up database seeding scripts. Instead of hardcoding office addresses or department IDs, Cursor queries your live setup to inject the correct parameters. This keeps your local development environment aligned with your actual company configuration.
