How to Use the IBM Quantum MCP in Cline
Cline controls your quantum experiments. Connect the IBM Quantum MCP server to run circuits and process results without leaving VS Code.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect IBM Quantum MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect IBM Quantum to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
End-to-end quantum workflows in Cline
Tell Cline to run a simulation and it gets to work. It calls `list_providers` to identify available resources and then executes your circuit via `submit_job`. It handles the entire sequence without manual intervention. You get the final result injected straight into your working file.
Manage job queues through Cline
When you have multiple experiments, Cline keeps them organized. It uses `list_jobs` to show you exactly what is pending or completed. If you realize you made a mistake, it fires `cancel_job` to stop the process immediately. This stops unnecessary credit drain.
Validate hardware with Cline
Before you commit to a backend, Cline checks the hardware capabilities. It runs `get_backend_details` to ensure the device is ready for your circuit requirements. This prevents failed submissions. You know exactly what the hardware supports before the job ever leaves your editor.
