Run headless archive searches from your shell

Claude Code lets you query millions of public domain items without opening a browser. By calling `search` or `search_by_collection` through this MCP connection, the CLI agent finds historical documents directly from your terminal. You can pipe these search results to other command-line tools. The agent formats the output as clean text, making it easy to feed into local scripts or database imports.

Automate link auditing with this Claude Code MCP Server

Broken links in your documentation or web projects can be checked programmatically. Claude Code scans your local files and checks the Wayback Machine using `wayback_availability`. If a site is down, the agent retrieves the closest archive snapshot. It then updates your local files or generates an audit report directly in your terminal.

Extract file listings and metadata via CLI

Inspecting remote archives is fast when you do not have to download massive zip files first. Claude Code uses this MCP server to trigger `get_item_metadata` and `get_item_files` to inspect the contents of any archive item. It retrieves file sizes, formats, and download counts. The agent can also check `get_views_stats` to see how popular an item is before you decide to mirror it locally.
