Connect Internet Archive MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Internet Archive to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Autonomously track down historical sources
Cascade can chain multi-step research tasks without waiting for you. When you ask Windsurf to find a specific text, this MCP server runs `search` to locate the identifier, immediately followed by `get_item_metadata` to verify the publishing details. If the agent finds what you need, it pulls the exact download links using `get_item_files`. You get the actual historical documents delivered straight to your workspace without having to click through the web UI.
Verify dead links with this Windsurf MCP Server
Broken links kill reference sections in your markdown files. Windsurf uses `wayback_availability` to check if a dead URL has a saved snapshot on the Wayback Machine. The agent reads the returned timestamp and rewrites your broken markdown links to point directly to the archived version. It does this across your entire workspace in one go.
Sift through massive media collections
Finding specific historical audio or video files usually takes forever. Windsurf handles this by targeting specific datasets using `search_by_collection` and `search_by_mediatype` in a single MCP execution loop. The agent filters out noise by creator using `search_by_creator` and narrows the dates down with `search_by_date_range`. You get a clean list of primary sources matching your exact historical window.
