Build fleet automation in Cursor
Cursor calls `get_kolide_fleet_stats` to feed real endpoint data straight into your editor context. Opening Agent mode and asking for a Python polling script prompts the agent to write fetch logic based on the actual JSON structure returned by the Kolide MCP server. Background execution of `list_kolide_devices` means you don't have to guess the API response format. It's just real data feeding the parsing loops with actual keys from your active fleet environment.
Script issue remediation with live context
Checking `list_kolide_issues` shows what's currently broken across the fleet. The MCP server hands the live issue data to the agent. That means you can script compliance checks with exact knowledge of the failure states instead of guessing. Cursor then uses `get_issue_details` and `get_check_details` to understand the specific validation rules. It generates bash scripts or configuration profiles that target the exact parameters causing the failure, ensuring your code works on the first run.
Map users to devices programmatically
Your internal tools rely on `list_kolide_people` to pull the active directory mapping. The editor writes the SQL or ORM models based on the exact fields returned by the API, saving you from reading documentation. Handling edge cases requires running `get_person_details` and `list_kolide_audit_logs`. Cursor reads the historical changes and generates the error handling logic required to manage users who frequently swap hardware.
