How to Use the ToolJet MCP in Google ADK
Connect agent actions directly to Google's data stack with the Google ADK.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect ToolJet MCP to Google ADK
Create your Vinkius account to connect ToolJet to Google ADK and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Run SQL Select Queries on ToolJet
Need to analyze historical records? Use `query_table` to pull structured results from your database. The long-context reasoning of Gemini models pairs well with this, letting the agent interpret complex query requirements. The tool accepts standard SELECT operations, giving you clean data sets that can then feed into further analysis within Vertex AI or BigQuery.
Programmatic Data Insertion
The system supports writing back to your source of truth. When an agent determines a record needs creating, it calls `insert_row`. This commits the data directly into the ToolJet database. It makes the AI client act like a true backend service layer, updating records based on its reasoning.
Initiate External Workflows
Don't just read or write; make things happen. `trigger_workflow` lets your agent initiate complex processes outside the database itself. This is key for connecting data changes to operational systems. The Google ADK can manage this handoff, ensuring that a simple query leads to an entire automated sequence running across your cloud infrastructure.
Set up ToolJet MCP in Google ADK
Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ installed
-
google-adkpackage (pip install google-adk) - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install Google ADK
Run
pip install google-adkto install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via theMcpToolsetclass. - 2
Connect via SSE transport
Use
McpToolset.from_server()withSseServerParamspointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. - 3
Create an LlmAgent
Pass the returned
mcp_toolslist directly toLlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required. - 4
Run with any Gemini model
The agent works with any Gemini model (
gemini-2.0-flash,gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with ToolJet tools in your ADK agent.
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams
# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
connection_params=SseServerParams(
url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)
)
# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
name="ToolJet_agent",
model="gemini-2.0-flash",
instruction="You have access to ToolJet tools via MCP.",
tools=mcp_tools,
