Automated trip itinerary generation via MCP Server.

Use `plan_trip` to calculate multi-modal travel plans from a headless script. It takes two coordinates and returns multiple structured options, including transfer counts and timings. This is perfect for background services that need to generate baseline commute data without needing a graphical interface.

Validating service coverage using TripGo MCP Server.

Before running any job, you must verify the area. Start by listing all supported regions using `get_regions` and check if your target city is included. Next, confirm route viability with `get_route_info`, supplying a specific route ID to validate its coverage scope for your script.

Bulk querying transit stop data.

Need thousands of coordinates? Use `search_stops` or `get_nearby_stops`. These functions let you query stops by name, address, or location to gather lists of IDs and coordinates. The collected list can then be fed into another process that calls `get_stop_details` for comprehensive data logging.

Common questions about TripGo MCP in Claude Code

You execute the `plan_trip` function via a single command, passing coordinates as arguments. The output is pure text/JSON, ready to pipe into subsequent shell commands or logging tools.
Run `get_regions` first. This confirms the operational scope of TripGo across North America, Europe, etc., ensuring your script doesn't fail due to unsupported geography.
Use `search_stops` when you know a name or intersection. The function returns matching stops, IDs, coordinates, and relevance scores—all the raw data needed for record keeping.
Yes. `get_vehicle_positions` delivers live tracking data on transit vehicles. This is vital for background monitoring scripts that need up-to-the-second location updates.
The server touches structured facility details, specifically IDs, names, and coordinates from `get_stop_details`. This makes it perfect for scripting database seeding or validation tasks.
