Building trip logic

Write a function to plan multimodal travel by calling `plan_trip`. The agent can use this tool and inject the resulting list of trip options, times, and steps directly into your code. You're working with real API responses, not mock data.

Validating location context

Before writing routing logic, check if a city works using `get_regions`. If you need to confirm the full coverage of a specific line, run `get_route_info` with a route ID. This ensures your code base uses accurate geographic boundaries.

Finding and detailing stops

Need coordinates for a known stop? Use `search_stops` by name or address to get the matching IDs, then call `get_stop_details`. This gives you all the facility info—like if it has an elevator or shelter—which is crucial context for your code.

Setup guide

Set up TripGo MCP in Cursor

Prerequisites

  • Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP Settings

Go to Cursor Settings → MCP or open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and search for "MCP: Add Server".

  2. 2

    Add the TripGo MCP

Cursor will create or open .cursor/mcp.json in your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable Agent mode

Open Composer (Cmd+I / Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

Ask Cursor something like "List my recent TripGo transactions." If the MCP tools are loaded correctly, Cursor will call the TripGo tools automatically. You can also check Settings → MCP for a green status indicator.

Common questions about TripGo MCP in Cursor

When you activate Agent mode, the AI calls tools like `plan_trip`. It then generates working code snippets that use the actual trip data—the times, steps, and transfer count—instead of leaving you with stubs.
The server handles standard GPS coordinates for planning trips. You can also search stops using natural language inputs like street intersections or addresses.
TripGo supports major metropolitan areas across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Use `get_regions` to verify coverage for any new city you're adding logic for.
Absolutely. You can call tools like `get_arrivals` or `get_vehicle_positions`. The agent will grab the real-time vehicle data and let you incorporate that status into your program's logic.
TripGo provides diverse transit metrics, including scheduled vs. estimated times, specific route IDs, stop names, and detailed instructions for multimodal journeys.
