Enforce security policies for new code

To define a policy, call `create_policy` to write out the required ruleset. You can then test or modify these controls using `get_policy` and `update_policy`. This lets you hard-code security requirements into your development workflow right in VS Code.

Manage API definitions for deployment

If you need to see what's available, run `list_apis`. If the API isn't there yet, use `create_api_definition` to write and commit the new definition file. Cline handles this entire lifecycle: defining it, and then verifying its existence.

Handle credential creation and rotation

Need a new user key? Use `create_key`. If you're updating an existing one, `update_key` modifies the session object. For broader access control, `create_org_key` establishes organization-level credentials. This keeps your local development environment current with production security standards.

Common questions about Tyk MCP in Cline

Cline uses the `create_api_definition` and `list_apis` tools. It reads the definitions, allowing you to check for missing endpoints or add entirely new ones without leaving your editor.
Yep. You use `get_policy` to pull up details on a specific policy, or you can review all existing rules by calling `list_apis` first. It's great for pre-deployment checks.
You simply execute the `delete_key` command, passing the necessary gateway secret. This ensures that old or compromised keys are removed cleanly as part of your cleanup routine.
Yes, you can call `create_org_key`. This is useful when setting up a new project environment and needing high-level access credentials for the whole team.
This server primarily handles security policies. These policies determine who can do what with your APIs, acting as the governance layer over all your services.
