Negotiate Signatures from Documents

Multiple agents can debate which files need signatures. One agent calls `list_documents` to find candidates, and a second agent uses that list to call `create_signature_request`. The system converges on the final set of actions. This is consensus-driven decision making in action. No single agent knows the whole answer; they negotiate it.

Validate Signatories and Assets

Agents can challenge assumptions by calling `get_organization` to verify a party's details, followed by `get_document` for asset verification. This peer review process ensures the required context is fully validated before proceeding. The debate continues until all agents agree that both the organization and document are ready.

Achieve Status Consensus

Agents can track progress using `list_signature_requests`. They keep calling `get_signature_request` iteratively, debating if the status has finally changed. This process continues until a consensus on completion is reached. This simulates real-world workflow handoffs where multiple people must agree on the final state.

Setup guide

Set up Ugosign MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Ugosign tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Ugosign_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Ugosign data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Ugosign MCP in AutoGen

The system uses `list_documents` to identify files, which one agent then feeds into `create_signature_request`. Multiple agents debate the optimal sequence until a full workflow is built.
Yes. One dedicated agent calls `get_organization` to pull company data, while another reviews that output against internal policies before allowing the signing process to continue.
The server handles document details and signature request data. This allows agents to debate not just *if* a signature is needed, but *which specific documents* require it.
Call `list_documents`. The output provides metadata for every file. Agents can then pass this list around to determine which ones are relevant to the current negotiation.
You'll use `list_signature_requests` for a high-level view, then rely on `get_signature_request` when the agents need detailed status updates on a specific job.
