Initiate Signatures from Code

When you need to start a signature request, the `create_signature_request` tool lets the agent call it. You pass necessary data as a JSON string directly into your code block, and Cursor injects the live result back for you to use. This means you don't write placeholder stubs; you write actual working logic based on real API responses.

Contextual Document Retrieval

`get_document` lets the AI retrieve document details right where you are coding. If your function needs a specific file ID, Cursor provides that live context so you can use it immediately. Similarly, if you need to know what organization is involved in the process, calling `get_organization` populates variables with real data.

Workflow Status and Listing

To build out a workflow function, you'll call `list_signature_requests` first. This gathers all existing request IDs. Then, the agent can use `get_signature_request` to check status for each ID, feeding that current state directly into your code. It also lets you list files with `list_documents`, giving you a variable populated with available document names.

Setup guide

Set up Ugosign MCP in Cursor

Prerequisites

  • Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP Settings

Go to Cursor Settings → MCP or open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and search for "MCP: Add Server".

  2. 2

    Add the Ugosign MCP

Cursor will create or open .cursor/mcp.json in your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable Agent mode

Open Composer (Cmd+I / Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

Ask Cursor something like "List my recent Ugosign transactions." If the MCP tools are loaded correctly, Cursor will call the Ugosign tools automatically. You can also check Settings → MCP for a green status indicator.

Common questions about Ugosign MCP in Cursor

The agent calls `create_signature_request` when you are mid-coding. It takes the necessary JSON data, executes the tool call, and then injects the successful response into your active code buffer for immediate use.
Yes. You simply prompt the AI to use `list_documents`. The agent executes this tool call, and the resulting array of document names is injected directly into your code, ready for you to reference.
This server primarily handles signing metadata and organizational details. When calling tools like `get_signature_request`, the agent accesses specific signature request details.
Yes, you set up the server configuration in `.cursor/mcp.json` within your project root. This ensures that every developer on your team has access to the same tools for consistent coding context.
The server touches document metadata and signature request details. Because the AI generates working code using real API responses, you maintain granular control over how this sensitive signing information is handled within your application logic.
