List all required documents using the MCP Server

Cascade uses `list_documents` to retrieve a full list of available files. You can then process this inventory in sequence, determining which records need signatures. This allows your agent to build out an entire document workflow just by listing contents and passing the results down the chain.

Create new signature requests with Windsurf

To kick off a signing process, Cascade invokes `create_signature_request`. It takes required data as a JSON string payload. This action starts the document lifecycle and generates tracking IDs. Your agent can automatically manage this step: read the list of documents, figure out which ones need signatures, and then use this tool to start them all.

Check the status of specific signing workflows

Need to know where a request stands? Use `get_signature_request` to pull current details. You pass the request ID, and Cascade gives you the latest state. This is key for multi-step processes. After creating requests, your agent can loop back and check if they've been completed or if action is required.

Setup guide

Set up Ugosign MCP in Windsurf

Prerequisites

  • Windsurf IDE installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Click the Cascade assistant icon in the sidebar, then click the hammer icon (🔨) at the top of the panel. Select "Configure" to open ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

  2. 2

    Add the Ugosign MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Refresh MCPs

Go back to the hammer icon (🔨) in Cascade and click "Refresh". Windsurf will detect the new server. No full restart is needed — the connection is hot-reloaded.

  4. 4

    Verify in Cascade

Start a new Cascade conversation and ask something like "Show my Ugosign payment history." If connected, Cascade will call the Ugosign tools directly. You will see a green dot next to the server name in the MCP panel.

Common questions about Ugosign MCP in Windsurf

Just call `list_documents`. The MCP Server returns a comprehensive manifest of files. Cascade handles the array output, letting you see everything ready to be processed.
Yep. You can use `get_organization` to pull key organizational metadata. This helps your agent ensure the sign-off request is tied to the correct legal entity before proceeding.
The server touches organization, document, and signature request details. Specifically, you'll be working with metadata like user IDs, file names, and creation timestamps.
Absolutely. Use `list_signature_requests`. You get a quick overview of every active request ID. This is perfect for an agent that needs to audit multiple workflows at once.
Ugosign handles the core metadata: who made the request, when it was created, and what documents are involved. It's all about tracking the lifecycle state.
