How to Use the Wistia MCP in Cursor
Write code that talks to Wistia video assets using Cursor's Agent mode and MCP Server.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Wistia MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Wistia to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Incorporate Live Analytics into Code
Don't use fake data anymore. Use the agent in Cursor to call `get_engagement_statistics` and inject real viewer metrics right into your function body. The AI generates working code that relies on live API responses. This is huge for building dashboards or reporting scripts because you get actual Wistia performance numbers, not stubs.
Manage Media Assets in Code
Need to write a function that updates video details? The `update_media_metadata` tool lets the AI call this and pass the hashed ID and new JSON attributes directly into your code. It's clean, typed development. You can also use `list_wistia_medias` to build loops that process every single asset in your Wistia account.
Programmatic Project Creation
Building an automated pipeline? Use the `create_new_project` tool call within your script. The agent handles structuring the project and gives you the ID needed for subsequent calls, like uploading a video via `upload_video_via_url`. This makes setting up new Wistia content folders purely programmatic.
