Audit workflow history

You can track every run of a specific automation using `get_history`. It shows you exactly when a Zap ran and if it failed, so you don't have to click through the web UI. This is critical for debugging. Knowing the execution history lets you find out why a process broke down. You get immediate status updates right inside Claude Desktop, making auditing simple.

Inventory connected apps

The `list_apps` tool shows every third-party service linked to your Zapier account, like Slack and Gmail. This gives you a clear picture of what's running and who has access. You never have to guess which services are connected. If you need an audit of permissions, this feature is key. It lists all available apps so you can manage or check the credentials for your MCP Server connections.

Search Zapier templates

Need a new idea? Use `search_templates` to query pre-built workflow ideas, like 'Slack to Trello'. You just enter the search string and get back relevant options. It's fast. This feature helps you figure out what's possible right away. Instead of browsing endless pages on Zapier, your agent pulls the templates directly into Claude Desktop.

Common questions about Zapier MCP in Claude Desktop

You add the MCP Server via the Settings → Developer section in the native Claude Desktop app. This makes tools like `list_zaps` available as subprocesses running locally on your machine.
Yep, you can run `get_profile` to retrieve details about the authenticated Zapier user and associated account. It's a quick way to verify who owns the workflow data.
It does. Since it runs locally, you can use it for sensitive operations that shouldn't hit the public internet. This means you keep your workflow audit right on your desktop.
Absolutely. Running `get_zap` allows you to retrieve the full configuration of any specific automation. You get the raw data needed for debugging right in your local environment.
This server primarily touches account and workflow configuration data, including user profiles, list of connected apps (`list_apps`), and detailed Zap settings (`get_zap`).
