Check a Zap's full configuration.

Agent A can use `get_zap` to analyze the internal setup of any workflow. This gives specialized agents all the necessary context about triggers and actions. CrewAI treats this data like shared memory, allowing one agent (like a researcher) to pass detailed findings to another (the analyst).

List connected third-party apps.

The `list_apps` tool provides a definitive inventory of all services attached to the Zapier account. This lets your team determine which external APIs are available for action. If Agent B needs to send an email, it checks this list first. It avoids trying to use non-existent tools.

Search for pre-built workflow templates.

When the team needs a starting point, Agent C calls `search_templates` with specific keywords. This immediately provides a pool of ready-made workflows. The specialized agents then analyze these templates to understand best practices and build their own, more targeted operations.

Setup guide

Set up Zapier MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Zapier tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Zapier Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Zapier data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Zapier access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Zapier transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Zapier MCP in CrewAI

The team uses `list_zaps` to gather a full inventory of existing Zaps. This initial data set allows the monitor agent to scope its review before making any recommendations.
The `get_history` tool retrieves a complete record of a workflow run. The specialized agents analyze this log to find failure points or areas for improvement in the process.
Yes. The server touches connection metadata (App list). When using `get_profile`, your agent gets account details that must be passed securely between specialized team members.
The `list_apps` tool gives the agents a clear picture of all connected services. This ensures the 'acting' agent only tries to use tools that are confirmed as functional.
The server exposes configuration details (`get_zap`), user account information (`get_profile`), and connection metadata (App list). These diverse data points allow your agent team to act autonomously across multiple domains.
