Inspect individual Zaps

The `get_zap` tool lets you grab the full configuration of a specific automated workflow, giving it context for your code. You can then pass that JSON directly into your function. It’s super useful. This means when you're writing logic in Cursor, you don't have to assume how a Zap is built; you just call `get_zap` and use the real data as input.

List all active workflows

Use `list_zaps` to pull an array of every workflow running in your account. This lets you iterate over them when writing a script, for instance. It’s perfect for batch processing. Before you write complex logic, call this tool first. You'll get the list needed to determine which Zaps need monitoring or updating.

Get user and app details

The `get_profile` tool pulls authenticated Zapier user data into your code context. Similarly, `list_apps` returns a structured inventory of connected services like Slack and Gmail. This live data injection means you can write code that knows *who* the user is and *what* apps are available before it tries to run anything.

Setup guide

Set up Zapier MCP in Cursor

Prerequisites

  • Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP Settings

Go to Cursor Settings → MCP or open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and search for "MCP: Add Server".

  2. 2

    Add the Zapier MCP

Cursor will create or open .cursor/mcp.json in your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable Agent mode

Open Composer (Cmd+I / Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

Ask Cursor something like "List my recent Zapier transactions." If the MCP tools are loaded correctly, Cursor will call the Zapier tools automatically. You can also check Settings → MCP for a green status indicator.

Common questions about Zapier MCP in Cursor

You add the server's endpoint into your `.cursor/mcp.json` file and ensure Agent mode is enabled in chat. The AI can then call tools like `get_zap` and inject the live JSON data directly into your code.
Yeah, you run `list_apps` to get a real-time list of connected services. This information is then available as context for the code you're writing in your editor.
You should, especially if your code needs to know about existing workflows or user permissions. The live data from `get_profile` is exactly what you need for accurate coding.
Yes, the agent can use `search_templates` to find pre-built workflow ideas, which it then presents as structured data right in your code block. It's a useful reference point.
This server handles operational and configuration data: user profiles (`get_profile`), list of Zaps, individual Zap configurations, and connected apps.
