Key Capabilities

Automated Parsio MCP Server Pipelines

This Parsio MCP Server lets your LangChain agent read incoming files and parse them without manual template matching. By connecting this tool, your chains inspect a document, spin up a target mailbox using `create_mailbox`, and immediately process the document. The workflow runs natively inside your LangGraph setup. You pass the file path to `extract_data_from_file_sync` and get structured JSON back in the same execution step, letting the next node in your chain make immediate decisions based on the extracted values.

Asynchronous File Processing for Large Batches

High-volume document queues can choke synchronous chains, so this Parsio MCP Server lets your agent switch to background processing. Your LangChain agent calls `extract_data_from_file_async` to start the extraction and stores the job ID, freeing up your chain to process other tasks. Later in the graph, another runnable checks status using `get_parsed_document_result`. This decoupled design keeps your token usage low and prevents API timeouts during heavy document processing runs.

Dynamic Template Management

Dynamic template management with this Parsio MCP Server allows your agent to handle layout changes on the fly. Your LangChain agent calls `list_mailbox_templates` to see which layout models are available and pulls details with `get_template_details` to verify the fields. This setup allows the chain to self-correct when data formats change. If a field is missing, the agent routes the document to a fallback mailbox or flags it for human review.

Setup guide

Set up Parsio MCP in LangChain

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • langchain-mcp-adapters + langgraph packages
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install dependencies

    Run pip install langchain-mcp-adapters langgraph langchain-openai. The MCP adapters package converts MCP tools into native LangChain BaseTool objects.

  2. 2

    Connect via HTTP transport

    Use MultiServerMCPClient with "transport": "http" pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create a ReAct agent

    Pass the discovered tools to create_react_agent() from LangGraph. The agent automatically routes Parsio tool calls through the MCP protocol.

  4. 4

    Run with any LLM

    Swap ChatOpenAI for ChatAnthropic, ChatGoogleGenerativeAI, or any LangChain-compatible model. The MCP tools work identically across all providers.

agent.py
from langchain_mcp_adapters.client import MultiServerMCPClient
from langgraph.prebuilt import create_react_agent
from langchain_openai import ChatOpenAI

async with MultiServerMCPClient({
    "parsio-mcp": {
        "transport": "http",
        "url": "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp",
    }
}) as client:
    tools = client.get_tools()

    agent = create_react_agent(
        ChatOpenAI(model="gpt-4o"),
        tools,
    )
    result = await agent.ainvoke({
        "messages": "List recent Parsio transactions"
    })
    print(result["messages"][-1].content)

Common questions about Parsio MCP in LangChain

You register the server using the LangChain MCP adapter and expose the tools to your agent. When the agent calls `extract_data_from_text_sync`, the returned JSON matches your schema and feeds directly into the next chain step.
Yes, you can build a LangGraph workflow that triggers extraction. Use `extract_data_from_file_async` to get a job ID, then use a state node to poll `get_parsed_document_result` until the data is ready.
Use LangSmith to trace the exact payload sent to endpoints like `list_mailboxes`. You will see the raw inputs, latency, and the exact JSON returned from the server.
Yes, you can call `list_parsed_data_history` to pull past records. This helps your LangChain agent analyze trends or verify previously processed files.
Your files and raw text are sent directly to your hosted Parsio mailboxes for extraction. Vinkius runs the server in an isolated sandbox, meaning your API keys and document payloads are never cached or stored on our platform.
