Key Capabilities

Automate data extraction in Windsurf

Cascade reads your document structures and triggers `extract_data_from_file_sync` to parse incoming files instantly. It maps fields from your raw PDFs into usable JSON without manual template creation. Your agent handles the heavy lifting by calling `list_mailbox_templates` to ensure it uses the right schema for every document type. You get clean data ready for your next coding task.

Retrieve parsed history with this MCP Server

Query your past parsing jobs using `list_parsed_data_history` to verify results directly inside your chat panel. Windsurf pulls the logs so you can confirm data integrity before moving to the next step. If you need specific details from a document, use `get_parsed_document_result` to pull the exact output. It keeps your workflow moving without switching tabs.

Manage mailboxes through Cascade

Create and configure new intake channels by running `create_mailbox` via the MCP interface. You define where the data comes from and Cascade handles the setup. Use `list_mailboxes` to see what is active in your account. You stay in control of your data sources while the server handles the backend API calls.

Setup guide

Set up Parsio MCP in Windsurf

Prerequisites

  • Windsurf IDE installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Click the Cascade assistant icon in the sidebar, then click the hammer icon (🔨) at the top of the panel. Select "Configure" to open ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

  2. 2

    Add the Parsio MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Refresh MCPs

Go back to the hammer icon (🔨) in Cascade and click "Refresh". Windsurf will detect the new server. No full restart is needed — the connection is hot-reloaded.

  4. 4

    Verify in Cascade

Start a new Cascade conversation and ask something like "Show my Parsio payment history." If connected, Cascade will call the Parsio tools directly. You will see a green dot next to the server name in the MCP panel.

Common questions about Parsio MCP in Windsurf

Parsio acts as a bridge for your files. You tell Windsurf to parse a document, and it uses the `extract_data_from_file_sync` tool to send that file to Parsio and return the structured result.
Yes, it can. Just ask Cascade to list your mailboxes, and it will trigger the `list_mailboxes` tool to show you exactly what is configured in your Parsio account.
Parsio treats your extracted data as private. The MCP Server only touches the specific document content you ask it to parse, and it uses standard secure tokens to talk to the API.
Use the `get_parsed_document_result` tool. It fetches the latest status and the extracted data for any job ID you provide.
It does. For larger files, you can trigger `extract_data_from_file_async` to avoid blocking your editor while the server processes the data.
