Key Capabilities

Connect BigQuery data to document templates

The `generate_pdf` tool allows your Gemini agent to pipe analytical data from cloud databases directly into document layouts. Your Google ADK workflow reads rows and triggers high-volume document generation without middle tier code. The agent checks progress using `check_pdf_status` to ensure files are ready before continuing. This keeps your long-context reasoning loop synchronized with the asynchronous document generation engine.

Control PDFMonkey workspaces via Google ADK

The `list_workspaces` tool lets your agent query your current document environment structure. This MCP Server integration allows Gemini to dynamically route document tasks across different departmental accounts. Once the correct workspace is identified, the agent uses `get_workspace` to verify its configuration. This ensures that generated assets land in the correct team environment.

Audit and update active documents

The `list_generated_documents` tool gives your Google ADK agent immediate visibility into past generations. If metadata needs to change, the agent executes `update_document` to keep external tracking IDs in sync. If a document fails validation, the agent triggers `regenerate_document` to rebuild the asset. This self-healing loop runs entirely within your agentic workflow without human intervention.

Setup guide

Set up PDFMonkey MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with PDFMonkey tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="PDFMonkey_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to PDFMonkey tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about PDFMonkey MCP in Google ADK

Install google-adk and use McpToolset with the server's HTTP URL. Pass this toolset into your LlmAgent constructor to expose all document tools to Gemini.
Yes. By using `list_templates` and `get_template`, your Google ADK agent analyzes the schema requirements and matches them with incoming database records before generating the PDF.
Since `generate_pdf` runs asynchronously, your Google ADK agent can fire multiple generation requests without waiting. It monitors completion by checking `check_pdf_status` in batches.
Your agent can call `delete_generated_pdf` using the unique document ID. This removes the generated document from your active storage index immediately.
Your JSON payloads and workspace API tokens never persist on our servers. Vinkius operates a zero-trust, ephemeral sandbox where execution contexts are discarded immediately after the tool call executes.
